David Haye Says Valuev Headed For KO
Tuesday, 03 November 2009 18:31
David Haye believes he will be the first boxer in history to knock Nikolai Valuev onto the canvas when the two meet in Nuremberg on Saturday.
In the warm up to their WBA world heavyweight title bout, Haye has predicted "one of the most jaw-dropping knockouts of all-time", despite the size difference between himself and Valuev.
At seven foot two, the Russian is nearly a foot taller than Haye, and has never been knocked down in a 16 year professonal career.
"Valuev has never been properly hurt before, let alone knocked down or out, and I'm now being given a chance to become the first fighter to bring 'The Beast' to his knees," said Haye.
"This is my chance to make history."
Haye is aiming to become the first Briton since Lennox Lewis to hold one of the heavyweight titles.
