Roots, Shoots, Flowers and Froots (Community)
Location:Forest Centre, Marston Vale
Time:10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Herbal medicine talk and guided walk, the first of four walks. Meeting at 10am in the Forest Centre Café where there will be a short introduction to Herbal Medicine - what to collect when etc - i.e. collecting roots during the winter & then we could go on a walk (actual walking time 1 1/2 hours) dig some roots up and then come back to centre to be shown what to do with what we've collected. Led by Maggie Haworth, Medical Herbalist.
The aim is that people learn which plants they can use to make herbal medicines, the right time for harvesting & how to make simple herbal remedies. Having a series of walks through the season rather than a one off will hopefully help people gain confidence in identifying plants & using them safely.
Charge of £5 per person, (£2.50 goes as a donation to the forest of Marston Vale) Children can attend for free. Maximum of 20 people so please book early to avoid disappointment.
